Lodge stay in Katmai National Park. Spend your day fishing or fly over to Brooks Falls to watch brown bears fishing for salmon.

Katmai Wilderness Lodge is the only private establishment on the coast of Katmai’s 3.6 million acre wilderness and offers a very exclusive bear viewing experience. At Kukak Bay, with a backdrop of majestic mountains and awesome glaciers, Katmai Wilderness Lodge is amidst one of the most important archaeological sites in the North Pacific region.
Lodging consists of guest cabin rooms with private entrances and baths. A maximum of 12 guests will stay at the lodge at a time, therefore a personal experience is guaranteed.
The main lodge hosts the dining area, sitting room to share daily experiences with others, books, games, VCR to view videos taken, multi-level deck where you can relax after a day in the field and take in the wildlife and scenery from your deck chair.
The lodge is powered by solar, wind and gas generator.
On a daily basis you will depart the lodge on landing craft boats, which are vessels with a ramp bow specially designed to go aground and safely off load guests. Here you will access different beach fronts with your guide and join the bears on land. Watch as they dig for clams, fish, eat grasses and berries or just relax. Take in fox, eagles, or beach comb for “hidden treasures” that the winter tides brought in. The boats will also troll the many rookeries. Observe seals sunbathing on the rocks, sea otters, puffins and many other varieties of birds and ducks.
Since the lodge is located on the coastline you can appreciate both land and marine wildlife. While the main attraction at the lodge is wildlife viewing, if you are interested in giving halibut fishing a try, the lodge staff will try to make this possible as well depending on capacities and interests of other guests.
