The Truck Camper is the living area (the camper unit) mounted on the loading platform of a 4-wheel drive truck. This RV option is very handy for city traffic and perfect for driving on gravel and unpaved roads.

Our 4×4 Truck Campers come with all the amenities needed for a comfortable adventure in the North, including but not limited to a full bathroom, fridge and freezer, and stove/oven. They can sleep up to three people, however, we recommend them for two adults.

There are three Truck Camper categories available, which differ in age of the RV and therefore in rental rate. Truck Campers are available in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Whitehorse and Seattle, and we allow one-way rentals between all our stations.

Truck Camper 4×4 Rental Rates

Your daily rental rate depends on the amount of miles you want to include. You have the option to include no miles, 100 miles per day or unlimited miles. If you choose one of the first two options, you can add as many miles as you want either pre or post paid. See Additional Services for more details.

Mandatory Charges

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Purchase of the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is required for all confirmed reservations, unless all drivers have proof of valid US insurance covering the rented unit(s).

Proof of insurance must be provided and approved at least 72 hours prior to pick up date. Please mention during booking if you plan to provide your own insurance.

Damage to glass and tires is not included nor is road-hazard damage. Damage inflicted to other vehicles and/or objects or injuring a person or pet or any other assets due to backing up, as well as damage to the roof, is NOT included with purchase of CDW! CDW reduces responsibility for damage to $2000 per incident. A security deposit of  $2000  will be charged upon pick up.

Preparation Fee

The structure of our preparation fee pricing is based on our covid related extra cleaning and sanitizing and is relating to the amount of rental days. Learn more about our additional cleaning and sanitizing measures here.

The preparation fee includes in-depth cleaning and sanitation above industry standards. All units are subject to a thorough 98 point mechanical and maintenance check before each rental. In addition, all truck campers and motorhomes come equipped with our Standard Equipment.

Please note that all vehicles must be returned with a full tank of gasoline and both propane tanks filled.

<7 days: $195 per rental
>6 days: $145 per rental
>13 days: $95 per rental
>20 days: $45 per rental
>27 days: FREE

Taxes

Depending on your pick up location, the taxes shown will be added to the rental rate as well as all mandatory and optional charges.

Please note that taxes may be lower for long term rental depending on your pick up location. Application of taxes on mandatory and optional charges also vary between pick up locations. Please contact us for more details.

One-Way Fee

We allow one-way rentals between all our rental stations. There is a mandatory one-way fee, unless you have taken advantage of one of our one-way specials. The fee depends on the chosen pick up and return station during booking.

Additional Services (Optional Charges)

VIP (Vehicle Incident Protection)

The VIP is available in conjunction with the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) only. It includes road-hazard damage to glass and tires (after deductible is met) and further reduces responsibility for both road-hazard and collision damage to $1000 per incident. It also reduces the security deposit to $1000 (charged upon pick up).

VIP: $9 per day

Maximum charge: $250 per rental

VIP+

The VIP+ is available in conjunction with the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and VIP only. It offers peace of mind coverage, including lockout service, lost key replacement, emergency towing (first 50 miles), jump start, and flat tire change using spare tire (tire cost excluded). GoNorth covers up to a maximum of $500 for roadside assistance. The VIP+ further reduces the security deposit to $500 (charged upon pick up).

VIP+: $6 per day

Maximum charge: $125 per rental

Additional Miles

You can prepay as many 100 mile packages as you like in addition to the mileage plan of your rental rate. Please note that prepaid miles are not refundable should you not use them. It is also possible to post pay any driven miles at a rate of $0.59 per mile.

100 mile package: $49 per package

Additional Drivers

No charge for the first two drivers. Every additional driver will be charged $10 per rental period.

3rd and every additional driver: $10 per rental period

Convenience Kits

Standard Equipment is included in every rental. In addition, convenience kits (kitchen and/or personal kits) can be included in your booking. They contain the respective items you need for your upcoming adventure.

Stations

Our 4×4 Truck Campers are available in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Whitehorse and Seattle. Detailed information about the respective station can be found by clicking on the corresponding button below.

No Truck Camper pick up between December 1st and March 1st in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Whitehorse. November and March pick ups are possible under certain conditions (winterized camper unit = no running water for kitchen, shower and toilet) on a case-by-case basis. Winter Rental Rules apply.
