About this poster
The Swiss Winter Aid foundation was founded at the height of the Great Depression in 1936 to help the most destitute people in Switzerland get through the winter months. During the Second World War, the foundation raised funds jointly with the Swiss wartime aid commission and in 1941 collected the record sum of 3.1 million Swiss francs. With little text and a meaningful image, this poster by Paul Jacopin called attention to the fundraising efforts.
