The well-known Swiss painter Otto Morach was strongly influenced by cubism and Bauhaus in his art. He created only a few posters, but these are among the most impressive of Swiss poster art. For all his works, he first created studies and sketches from life. In 1923, Otto Morach designed this very expressive Art Deco poster for the Welti-Furrer taxi company. The cubist design shows three taxis driving away from the Grossmünster in different directions: a fancy limousine, an open cabriolet and an extravagant multiple-seater. This iconic masterpiece is a favourite among collectors of Swiss poster art.

Otto Morach was born in Solothurn in 1887 and died in Zurich in 1973.

After training as a secondary school teacher, Otto Morach went abroad from 1909 to 1914 to study painting in Munich and then in Paris, where he witnessed the development of Cubism and Futurism.
