About this poster
This is an unusual and beautiful map of Switzerland created by Hans Thöni in 1939. This stone lithograph shows Switzerland with the railway lines of the time and the cities of Zurich, Basel, Berne, Lucerne, St. Gallen, Geneva and Lausanne. It also shows sports typically enjoyed in Switzerland, such as skiing, ice hockey and climbing. The traditional costumes of every canton and the characteristics of the cities are depicted on the map in a very pretty and creative way.
