About this poster
This impressive poster by D. Cambellotti is promoting the exhibition of 1911 which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the formation of the Kingdom of Italy, showing the glory and power of the ancient Roman Empire with the three eagles which was the emblem of the Roman army. It also shows on the pillar the initials SPQR [The Senate and People of Rome], and the date that Rome was founded. The trio of majestic birds overlook a paved road might show the Via Appia. This most rare poster exists in various languages and at least two different sizes. This is the larger and rare edition with the Italian text.
