About this poster
Otto Ernst apprenticed as a graphic designer, studied in Florence and Paris and became a student of Eugène Grasset at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in 1910. Ernst worked as a freelance painter and graphic designer and travelled all over Europe. He captured his impressions in his paintings and his poster style is characterised by a realistic style. This poster for the Pilatus railway is a beautiful and impressive stone lithograph from 1933 and is very rare.

After his apprenticeship as a graphic designer, he studied in Florence and in Paris where in 1910 he became a student of Eugène Grasset at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière.
