Advertisements for spirits are a very popular genre for poster collectors, as they are often very decorative and colourful and feature attractive designs. This original 1959 poster advertising the Picon aperitif shows a pretty lady who is evidently enjoying her drink. It was designed by London-born Marcus Campbell, who moved to Lausanne and made a name for himself as a creative graphic designer of product posters in the 1950s.

After studying in London and Paris (Académie Colorassi) he worked as Art Director for Lord & Thomas Advertising in Paris from 1937 to 1940, then as Art Director for J.
