About this poster
The famous poster artist Martin Peikert provoked astonishment with his amusing and lively posters for the Swiss tourist resorts. His bold designs made him one of the most popular designers of Swiss travel advertising in the 1940s and 1950s. His posters convey a sense of joie de vivre, health and cheerfulness in subjects such as children and ladies and are very popular in Switzerland as well as abroad. As in many of Peikert’s designs, a female figure plays the main role on this 1958 vintage poster for Lenzerheide, promoting golf in the growing tourist resort in the Grisons. It is among the rarest of all Peikert’s posters.
