About this poster
In the 1970s, Leupin started to concentrate more and more on artistic works that centred on the figure of the clown: “I’m just taken with clowns and they won’t let me go.” Hereby, Leupin submitted himself to completely new rules and different criteria. On this 1970 poster for Knie, the features of the famous Swiss mime Dimitri are drawn with thin brushstrokes; there is a subtle melancholy in his smile and little black spots mark the sadness in his eyes.
