About this poster
The brothers David, Julius, Louis and Eduard Loeb founded their business in 1881 when they opened a small textile shop in Bern. Driven by innovative ideas and commitment to its customers, the business developed into the city’s first department store. After acquiring adjacent properties, the brothers Loeb were able to open a new larger store in 1914, which was advertised in this original poster by the master of Swiss poster art Emil Cardinaux. A perfect “Wolfsberg” lithograph and a rarity.
