About this poster

Caux is a health resort situated high above Montreux in the canton of Vaud and is often called the balcony of Lake Geneva. In the Belle Epoque, Caux became famous because of its Grand Hotel and the Caux Palace Hotel, and it has hosted prominent guests including Elisabeth of Austria (Sisi), Konrad Adenauer, the Dalai Lama and Kofi Annan. The Swiss founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival Claude Nobs lived in a chalet in Caux. Original vintage posters of Caux from the 1930s, such as this winter scene by Willy Jordan, are extremely rare.
