This vintage poster by Niklaus Stoecklin advertising Bi-Oro sun cream is one of the most celebrated posters of the Object Poster Style that dominated Swiss product advertising from the 1920s through the 1950s. Of the hundreds of posters done in this hyper-realist style, none surpasses the subtle highlights and rich surfaces in Stoecklin's still-life, which is included in the collection of the MOMA in New York.

Stoecklin’s first teacher in Basel was Burkhard Mangold who heavily influenced his style. He studied at the Basel School of Arts and Craft and created his first ‘object poster’ in 1922.
