About this poster
An extraordinary, rare and highly collectible poster printed by Wolfensberger in lithograph technique and designed in 1925 by the famous poster artist Niklaus Stoecklin. It promoted the Swiss Alpine Postal Motor Coaches, showing the Gotthard massif with the “Tremola” - the south side of the Gotthard Pass. It belongs to the rare still existing icons by the famous artist of „New Objectivity”.

Niklaus STOECKLIN was born in Basel in 1896 and died in 1982.
Stoecklin’s first teacher in Basel was Burkhard Mangold who heavily influenced his style. He studied at the Basel School of Arts and Craft and created his first ‘object poster’ in 1922.
