About this poster
The Klausen race was carried out ten times between 1922 and 1934 on the Klausen pass between the cantons of Glarus and Uri, and it was the most famous, difficult and dangerous mountain race in Europe at the time. On this very rare vintage poster, Emil Huber captured the event’s unique atmosphere with the two cars racing around a bend in the narrow mountain pass road. The red race car was inspired by the winning car of the previous year, a Steyr driven by the Austrian Hermann Rützler.
